Hey Hair Color Fans,
There has been an outbreak of Olympic Games fever at HairColorCode HQ this week, with the team glued to the television set as the worlds greatest athletes go head to head.
Of course it’s not all about who can run the fastest/jump the highest/shoot the straightest so we’d like to award our own alternative medals for the first week of London 2012.
Our gold medal goes to the Japanese men’s gymnastic team for magnificent achievement in the field of hair – they arrived at the arena with some pretty impressive “straight from the salon” do’s, but then to land triple somersaults and the like without a lock out of place, well, we want to know what hair product they are using and where we can get it!
The silver HairColorCode medal goes to all those female swimmers sporting patriotic nail art in the colors of their national flags – Missy Franklin, Allison Schmitt, Elizabeth Biesel for the USA, Rebecca Adlington for Britain, Ruta Meilutyte for Lithuania and Stefania Pirozzi for Italy, we salute you and your fabulous nails!
Finally our bronze medal goes to the sport of dressage – because any Olympic event that requires the competitors to wear top hat and tails is, by definition, awesome.

Just for Fun
Last week we asked you which teen idol transformed her locks from blonde to blue during an award ceremony.
The answer was of course Demi Lovato at the Teen Choice Awards. Kudos to Ally for getting it right!
Hair Color News
- Love her or hate her, you certainly can’t ignore Jersey Shore star Snooki! This week she revealed a new hair color in honour of her baby boy due next month, tweeting “Blue black hair for Lorenzo’s arrival! Thank you boo”. We’ve heard of push presents, could labour makovers be the next big thing?
- In other news experts from Nottingham Trent University in England have proved once and for all that women have more confidence when they color their hair! The study revealed that “at work, women gained an added confidence to express their opinions and make requests they would not normally consider such as asking for a raise, a promotion or time off.
Similarly, dyeing their locks gave women the impetus to be more forthright or put their foot down with romantic partners, family members and friends. Check out more on the study here
- You may think you have suffered for your hair color but you would be hard pressed to match Korean pop star Wooyoung of 2PM who revealed this week he had to dye his hair 15 times to achieve his white blonde locks, burning his scalp in the process – ouch!
Celebrity Hair Color of the Week – Khloe Kardashian
As one of the original celebrity ‘ombre’ devotees, we were surprised this week to see Khloe ditch the tips in favour of an all over darker color (just like her sisters!).
Her new look was created by Joico‘s celebrity stylist George Papanikolas at Andy Lecompte Salon in West Hollywood, California. There’s definitely no denying Khloe as a member of the K-Dash fam with her shiny brunette locks!
Until next week, happy hair!
